Yes we do. We understand that flexibility and privacy are important when it comes to unique travel experiences. Which is why most programmes in our collection are also available as a private retreat, optional to solo travellers and parties of 2 or more, and can be tailored to meet specific needs. From the destination, to the programme agenda and dietary requirements, private retreats are ideal for those looking to spend time connecting, exploring and creating new memories in a comfortable and beautiful natural, outdoor setting.

To ensure availability, we recommend booking set-date programmes as early as possible, at least 2 months in advance. For private retreats, to allow us to fulfil you and/or your parties needs, please let us know at your earliest convenience to allow sufficient time to plan and organise your retreat.

Alongside our esteemed experts and the outstanding concierge team at each property. A Balance Holidays Host or Representative, depending on whether you are travelling solo or as a group, will be present and contactable throughout the entire programme to provide assistance and support where needed.
Yes. Prior to the beginning of each retreat, we will send you a welcome pack containing all necessary information relating to the retreat programme, leading expert(s) and contact information of the Balance Holidays Host or Representative via email. Ensuring you are supported and taken care of from the beginning to the end.
In the instance an activity/workshop/class has to be removed from the programme, replaced or postponed to a different day, no compensation of any kind or responsibility can be taken as some circumstances are beyond our control. A circumstance beyond our or our supplier’s control is one that cannot be foreseen or avoided even after taking all due care and includes, but is not limited to, adverse weather conditions or forecasts. Absolutely! We encourage travelling solo to mix and connect with a larger group to maximise the experience. At Balance Holidays, we believe a retreat is the perfect option to foster new relationships with like-minded individuals, as well as deepening a connection with ourselves in a safe, healthy and comfortable environment you can trust.
If you are a solo-traveller who will be joining a larger group and wish to share a room, we will be happy to pair you with another guest.
If you wish to attend a retreat programme on your own, please contact us because in some cases, private retreats are also available for solo-travellers too.
Balance Holidays prides itself on offering personalised care and attention to each guest choosing to attend a retreat with us. Which is why, we maintain a reasonable expert-student ratio for each programme, maximising an intimate and personalised experience for each guest.
For private retreats, this will depend on the chosen programme and whether you are choosing to travel solo or with a group of family, friends and work teams (booked together).

Our retreat programmes welcome everyone as they are designed to provide a nurturing and supportive environment for people of all experience, skill and fitness levels. From a physical outdoor activity to a yoga class, our highly trained and professional experts are with you every step of the way. They are familiar with teaching multilevel groups and will be happy to adapt the intensity of an exercise or a pose to your preference. Just ask! After all, each programme is curated on the grounds of giving every attending guest the opportunity to flourish, learn and grow. Regardless of how much time you have spent on a bike or a mat.

Our guests’ safety is top priority. As our programmes include an array of physical activities and exercises, the instructions and guidance given by our experts have been designed with your safety in mind. Prior to the beginning of each programme, we always advise guests to follow the instructions, direction and guidance of the expert and to always pay close attention to their bodies, to minimise the risk of injury and incidents. If yoga is included in a programme, it is possible to experience temporary muscle soreness, However, if you feel a pose is too complex or intense for you, tell the teacher immediately.
By agreeing to come on our retreat and accepting our Terms & Conditions, you are acknowledging that you have voluntarily chosen to participate in physical exercise activities during the retreat. By signing up to the retreat, you assume all risk for your health and wellbeing, and fully release any responsibility, cost or damages to Balance Holidays, its suppliers and employees. It is a condition of our contract with you that you and all members of your party have suitable and comprehensive travel insurance to cover your holiday as our suppliers nor we can be held responsible for any liability, expenses or losses you incur as a result of being inadequately insured. Yes, all experts we work with at Balance Holidays are insured under General Liability/Master Insurance Policy.
We are obsessed with delicious food. After all, our founder is Italian! Each programme’s menu is specially designed by the Balance Holidays team, capturing local culinary traditions of the destination through chosen recipes and concepts, combined with locally-sourced or where possible, home-grown organic ingredients. All meals will be prepared using seasonal fruits and vegetables, paired with small portions of fish or free-range protein meats, legumes and gluten-free grains in place of carbohydrates, absent of refined sugars. Non-Gluten free options are also available. *Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements, food allergies and intolerances.
Balance Holidays is a proud supporter of the Slow Food movement, identifying and partnering with properties that either cultivate or source fresh, organic ingredients locally so the food travels direct from field-to-fork as much as possible. Not only does this support the local farmers’ businesses, it also helps the environment by reducing the carbon footprint, and guests can enjoy nutritiously balanced, traditional and regional cuisines.
As a general rule, we advise bringing comfortable clothes and shoes, a bathing suit, sunglasses and sunscreen, a journal, a reusable water bottle, an open mind and a big smile!

Our retreats include a healthy balance between activities and free time to relax, read a book, take a walk or explore the surroundings. Days with outings planned will mean the intensity of other activities will be lighter. We encourage full participation in order to get the most out of our programmes, but there is no obligation. Should you wish to take an afternoon off and simply relax by the pool or the enjoy the beautiful location, please be our guest!

Many guests come on a retreat with Balance Holidays to enjoy a digital detox. Most of our retreats are held in a quiet, tucked-away countryside corner, circled in still and inspiring natural landscapes. Therefore, mobile phone coverage may be limited. In most cases, there is a Wi-Fi connection in the main house, the dining areas and bedrooms, where you will be able to check emails or attend to any urgent matters. The usage of mobiles phones throughout each retreat is subject to personal preference. However, to encourage full enjoyment and connection to the programme we do recommend limiting the daily use to a handful of minutes in order to enhance the benefits of each experience, reconnecting with yourself and other like minded individuals and the beautiful surroundings of the location during this short break.
You will need to purchase suitable flight or train tickets in order to arrive and depart by the stated date and time range of your chosen experience. If you choose to arrive earlier or leave later than the stated day/time, you will be responsible for any additional fees that occur. We always encourage spending extra time to go deeper and explore the local region if that option is available to you. At some locations, you will be able to arrive early or stay late at the venue, while at other locations you will need to find other forms of accommodation to facilitate an extended stay.

Alcohol is not included in the retreat price, but at the same time not forbidden. We are about Balance, and believe that a nice glass of red wine with your evening meal is one of the healthiest habits to pick up to live long! (Livia’s great grandmother died at almost 100 years old having a glass every single evening of her life).
A lot of our retreats are held in beautiful wine regions and cultivate grapes in the estate gardens. In such instances, we make sure to include a wine tasting in the programme.
All of the activities highlighted on the programme page are included in the price. However, the possibility to purchase some extras, be it that extra treatment you want to try or that optional horseback-riding excursion will be available. Any additional costs incurred from purchasing extra activities will be your sole responsibility. The accepted currency will be the local currency of the country you will be travelling to.
