Following the challenges of the years gone-by, renew and ground the body and mind on the Elevate and Nourish Mallorca Retreat this early May Bank Holiday. Release emotional struggles and peel away accumulated layers of stagnancy and self-limiting behaviours to return to a feeling of wholeness once again through stretching and mindful movements in nature, guided meditation and nutritious plant-based vegan cuisine. A valuable opportunity to take a deep pause and find tools, knowledge and insights to reveal your inner-gifts, goals and directions, as you move forward into the world.

LEADING EXPERTS

Balance Holidays welcomes Belinda Matwali and Morgan Witkin as the leading experts on this programme.

BELINDA MATWALI - Belinda is a Spiritual Mentor and Meditation Guide with over ten years of extensive training in meditation and consciousness awareness practices. Her individual meditation styles and techniques consisting of breathing, shaking, mindful movement and deep listening are featured on the Deliciously Ella App. She has also held meditation workshops and sessions at Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place Festival, Wanderlust, the Mandrake hotel and more.

MORGAN WITKIN - Having worked besides a number of internationally recognised Michelin-starred chefs at luxury hotels and resort groups including St. Regis, Relais & Châteaux, Cheval Blanc and Belmond. Morgan is a qualified Health Coach and certified Holistic Nutritionist from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and Cornell University’s Plant-Based Nutrition programme. Morgan is also the founder of Morganic Kitchen and proudly the first vegan chef to host a television show on the Food Network in Italy.

SUNRISE MEDITATION AND STRETCHING - Embrace new beginnings with lemon water and gentle movements to lubricate the joints and awaken the body’s energy channels.

MEDITATION WALKS - Be at one with the still and serene of nature. Teasing the senses to a feast of abundant sight, scent and sound as you amble through the palatial finca.

SPRINGTIME YIN YOGA AND YOGA NIDRA - Set intentions and work with positive affirmations in a relaxed state of consciousness, primed for receiving Yoga Nidra.

SPRINGTIME MEDITATION CIRCLE - Celebrate new, welcoming ideas on how and what we want to achieve with the energy cultivated across the retreat and how to channel it into life at home.

HERBAL TINCTURE WORKSHOP WITH WUNDER WORKSHOP - In a special collaboration, together the programme’s two experts, we will deep-dive into local herbs and plants. Demonstrating how they can be integrated into food and teas to sustain the intake of vital nutrition to supplement those missing as a result of contemporary farming techniques.

PHILOSOPHY ON FOOD AND NUTRITION

With her knowledge of 100% plant-based vegan cuisine and the concept of ‘Primary Food’, Morgan together with Balance Holidays has curated a special menu for this retreat. Each meal, plant-based and zero-kilometre, will be guided by the principles of nutritional balance and nurturing our bodies. Sourcing ingredients native to Mallorca in the month of May from the property’s two vegetable gardens such as asparagus, aubergine, apricots, zucchini and citrus fruits. Morgan will also be present daily and at each meal for discussions about health, wellness and nutrition. Highlighting the importance of eating locally-grown, seasonal ingredients and how a holistic plant-based diet is fundamental to overall health and wellness, no matter when you start.

THE LOCATION

The largest of the Balearic Islands with an average of over 300 days of sunshine in a year. Find rest and respite between workshops and meals in the airy spaces of Finca Serena. A five-star hotel and resort primely positioned in the heart of Mallorcan countryside, overlooking 40-hectares of lush Mediterranean gardens and interlacing trails leading to 10-hectares of vineyards. Where Cypress trees, fields of lavender, olive, lemon and orange groves reside.     A well-versed meditation and wellbeing mentor with a diploma in Nutritional Therapy, completing a 240 hour Compassionate Inquiry Training with Dr Gabor Mate and over a decade of training with Masters in India. Belinda’s classes and workshops blend a broad range of life-affirming tools and wellbeing practices together, such as yoga, trauma-informed psychotherapeutic approaches and nutrition. All with a sole focus on guiding individuals to thrive and survive, and to be in complete alignment, presence and deeply attuned to the self and inner-teacher within. She has been featured on the Deliciously Ella App and has appeared at Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place Festival, Wanderlust and collaborated with Sweaty Betty.

    Morgan Witkin

    A certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, Holistic Nutritionist and the first American vegan chef to become a TV host for the Food Network in Italy. Morgan, who is based in Rome but carries American roots and a myriad of international experience, is the founder of Morganic Kitchen and delivers recipes that are 100% plant-based, vegan, gluten and refined sugar free. Yet there is no deprivation in this; flavour and variation are not sacrificed. Her aim is to help individuals execute diet and lifestyle changes in order to promote overall sustainable wellness. She has collaborated with internationally recognised Michelin-starred chefs at luxury hotels and resort groups including St. Regis, Relais & Châteaux, Cheval Blanc, Belmond and more.

Practical information

CHECK IN

This programme will commence at 5:00pm on the day of arrival. You will be allowed to check into your room from 3:00pm onwards. We therefore suggest booking tickets with an arrival time that allows sufficient time for travel from the airport to the hotel. On the day of departure, this programme includes a workshop and activities scheduled until 11:30am, followed by a farewell brunch. The checkout time will be 12pm, with free time available beforehand for packing. However, you are welcome to depart earlier to meet the needs of your personal agenda.

GETTING THERE

The closest airport is Palma de Mallorca. You may book a car or taxi from outside the airport, quoting the below address to bring you directly to the estate. Alternatively, the hotel will be happy to organise a transfer for you. This transfer service will entail a separate fee, not included as part of the cost of this programme and will be payable to the hotel before departure. Total journey time if local traffic conditions permit will be approximately 30 minutes.
