Be in the presence of the revitalising settings of Gstaad, Switzerland on the Uplifting Swiss Alpine Retreat. Surrounded by steep and verdant slopes, situated in the Southwest region of the Swiss Alps. Gstaad is a charming village attracting visitors from all over the world seeking respite to embark on adventures and discovery.

In the morning, be greeted by impressive scenery in an invigorating Jivamukti Yoga Class with our expert, Nicole von Grünigen. Though lesser known in Europe, Jivamukti Yoga has a history dating back to 1984 and is a popular style amongst celebrities in America. It is a physical, ethical and spiritual practice and while it can improve strength, flexibility and confidence, it is also a method to help build and develop relationships, leading to a sense of interconnectedness and the discovery of contentment and spontaneous joy. Balance Holidays are pleased to be one of few retreat companies offering this practice in Europe.

To further encourage our approach to wellbeing, this programme includes a guided mountain hike, and two guided E-Bike tours around crystalline lakes followed by an outdoor picnic, and a wild Mountain herb foraging cooking class. Settle into the evenings with an exquisite gastronomic offering in the property’s esteemed restaurant. Following traditional Alpine and Swiss culinary concepts, using seasonal, organic ingredients, in Gstaad, the perfect sustenance is not only wholesome but attractively tasty too. On the last evening, a typical Swiss dinner is included in this programme. For a well-rounded, authentic Swiss-Alpine experience, a complimentary 50-minute Herbal Aromatherapy Massage is also included.

Draw a close to each day in the stylish and contemporary suites of Le Grand Bellevue. Tucked away from the frenzied promenade, Le Grand Bellevue is Gstaad’s oldest palace hotel, originally built in 1912 as a Cure House and Spa. Having recently undergone renovation works, it preserves and enhances its reputation as the epitome of Alpine excellence, Swiss sophistication and elegance.

Pursue an experience filled with new adventures and bank the memories shared with like-minded individuals on the Uplifting Swiss Alpine Retreat. Turn the attention to the flower-strewn fields and embrace the source of radiant energy before letting the blue-vault skies lure you on a spontaneous stroll. The Expert

Having been exposed to the likes of dance and athletics at a young age, which later stemmed into aerobics, fitness and body forming, Nicole von Grünigen took her first yoga class at Pilates school. From that point onwards, she realised that Yoga and Pilates are the two areas she wanted to focus and specialise in. In the year 2000, Nicole gained her certification in Power Yoga Teacher Training, followed by her qualification as a Sivananda Yoga Teacher in 2008, before obtaining the title as an ‘Advanced Certified Jivamukti Yoga Teacher’ in 2016. The underlying principles behind her classes are to help her students integrate body and mind and heighten the feelings and sensations of joy.
