Eco-friendly interior and exterior design, Aufguss Ceremony, Sheep-wool wrap from Val d'Ultimo

Overview

Based in South Tyrol in a corner of North Italy bordering Switzerland, Arosea Life Balance sits below the ardent Alps serving as a destination of undisturbed tranquility and an escape to the enchanting outdoors. Surrounded by sloping meadows and Swiss pine trees overlooking a lake, be at one with nature to discover the beauty in its pure and peaceful form to unravel the natural benefits for the body, mind and spirit.

This lodge is focused on eco-sustainability, reflecting the ethos of the natural landscapes in all aspects. The exterior façade, interior designs and treatments offered here are testament to this, comprised of three key elements: Swiss pinewood from the Trentino forests, wool from sheep of the Ulten Mountains and stones of Slate. For extra indulgence, each suite includes a private terrace sauna, accessible 24 hours.

Swiss pinewood carries calming benefits due its natural scent. Aiding the alleviation of stress, reduced heart rate and facilitating sleep, it is also a material that has been used for centuries for bedroom panelling and furniture, which is coherent at Arosea.

Wool sheared from sheep of the Ulten Mountains provides warmth and comfort within the eco-lodge. It is 100% biodegradable, natural, renewable and sustainable. The Wool-Wrap Ceremony included in this programme takes advantage of the natural detoxifying properties, mixed with Alpine herbs to penetrate deep into dermal layers to soften muscle tensions and intensify relaxation.

Slate is considered a balancing stone to grant emotional, mental and spiritual balance. It is used in the different sauna rooms and in the daily Aufguss Ceremony. Mixed with a range of calming fragrances of Alpine herbs, water enriched with natural essential oils is poured over the hot slate stones to form vapour, activating and releasing health-enhancing properties.

This programme is specifically designed by Balance Holidays. It includes an assortment of outdoor physical activities, maximising the use of space in the mountains with trekking, biking and more. The workshops will focus on relearning inherent skills that have gone forgotten. Such as breathing correctly, stretching as well as postural exercises to enhance self-confidence. Yin Yoga and Meditation is also an integral part of this programme to encourage reconnection with the mind and body. Indulge in a cuisine crafted with locally grown ingredients, expertly combining traditional Alpine flavours with those of the Mediterranean.

Utilise this opportunity to enjoy a spot of much needed downtime and access the hotel’s treatment facilities for further relaxation. Be the director of your wellbeing and let the inviting outdoors welcome you on a soul-soothing short break and a newly developed affinity with nature.
