Wake up high amongst the trees, to the sound of the birds singing and the leaves whispering in the breeze on the Forest Bathing Tree House retreat. Carefully designed around the trunks of Oak trees, causing minimal disturbance to the imposing environment, trees play the architect for each wooden cocoon, drawing inspiration from the ancient forest. Furnished with the concept of eco-consciousness, an O-zone treated Nordic hot tub is located on the private terrace, bringing contemporary elegance with the raw elements of nature together.
You will be invited to experience the ancient ritual of forest bathing (often known as Silvotherapy). Through a series of guided exercises, from deep breathing to a mindful walk in the forest, unite with nature and let the heart and mind roam free. A Cacao and Chanting Ceremony in the Forest will be held on a separate afternoon to further enhance connection with Mother Nature. Originating from Aztec traditions, this ancient ritual involves Cacao, which is made into a natural plant-based drink, and a series of varied exercises, activities and a sequence of chanting and dancing, the objective is to encourage guests to let voices and emotions flow free rather than subduing them. All experiences can then be translated into empowering and coping tools for the modern lifestyle.
Delicious locally sourced, plant-based food will be prepared from a menu carefully designed by Balance Holidays. Incorporating classic recipes and healing herbs, enjoy plates of high-energy food in the dining rooms of the imposing castle, which once provided the impressive backdrop for the first original film adaptation of Beauty and the Beast by Jean Cocteau. Participate in a Raw Food Cooking Workshop, discovering a true taste of food in the absence of preservatives, sugars and flavourings and seasonal treasures offered by nature. Moreover, gain knowledgeable insight into the health and nutritional benefits of ingredients and how to establish a healthy, happy relationship with food. A typical French dinner is also included in this programme to mark an authentic experience.
Yoga classes will be held at sunrise and sunset, within the castle, with views of the forest and green fields all around. The morning Vinyasa Energetic Yoga will focus on core and muscular strength and dynamic energy flow. Evening practice will be deeper and slower with Yin and Yoga Nidra elements and visualization techniques. Reestablish a sense of identity by taking a moment away from the usual settings to process, reflect and respond to pressing thoughts and emotions on the Forest Bathing Tree House Retreat. By responding to these, we are building, growing and developing.
